Visit the Flower Garden at Pretty Bird Farm

View the colorful flowers in the private garden and more at Pretty Bird Farm in Rosedale, Hunterdon County, on August 24 through the Garden Conservancy’s Open Days Program. The farm will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a $10 donation to the Conservancy.

The “secret” garden where heirloom tomatoes and cut flowers are grown will be open to the public at a time when butterflies will be plentiful in the pollinator gardens. A small farm market stand in the garden will have flower bouquets, pollinator plants and herbs, heirloom tomatoes, and raw organic honey available for purchase.

The River Rats, a local plein air painting group, will have at least six artists in the gardens working with a variety of mediums in the morning hours, capturing what they see. Some completed pieces for will also be for sale.

Pretty Bird Farm is a flower and vegetable garden nestled in Delaware Township, overlooking the Rosemont Valley. The cultivated garden is about an acre in size and is planted yearly with more than 150 different varieties of annuals, perennials, and vegetables. The small business sells organically grown produce and flowers to the local community and beyond. The garden allows photography and is partially wheelchair accessible, according to the Garden Conservancy website.

The address for GPS is 137 Kingwood Stockton Road, Stockton. The road is also known as County Road 519. Visitors are asked to park on the grass on the house side of the driveway.

Less than 10 minutes from Pretty Bird is the Bellsflower Garden, which is also open on this special day.  Visit the website to learn more and purchase tickets for Pretty Bird and Bellsflower.
