Morristown-Beard School (MBS) is an independent, coeducational day school serving nine counties and more than 85 communities in northern New Jersey. The school motto, Ad Astra Per Aspera, can be translated as “To the Stars Through Adversity,” a phrase that embodies the essence of the MBS experience.
The MBS Summer Institute offers creative, enriching programs for rising 6th-12th graders and rising 9th-12th graders. All coursework encourages critical thinking in subjects as diverse as creative writing, design arts, and mathematics. To ensure the highest quality experience for all students, class sizes are limited. Half-day morning (9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.), half-day afternoon (12:30 to 3 p.m.), and full-day programs (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) are available for 2020.
Summer 2020 offerings for Middle School students include Escape Room Challenge, Wordsmithing: Writing Skills through Creativity, and Math Madness. These one-week courses are available July 20-24 and July 27-31. Courses for Upper School students include Personal Writing and the College Essay, Math Foundations, IdeaLab: Entrepreneurial Boot Camp, Constitutional Debates, Sustainable Elements of Architecture, Mathematical Logic, and The Body at Risk: Immunology in Action. These two-week courses are available July 20-31. An updated Summer Institute Handbook will debut soon.
The MBS Summer Institute is committed to enrolling motivated learners. If the cost proves to be prohibitive, contact summerinstitute@mbs.net to inquire about financial aid. Those who register by April 1 are guaranteed a $100 discount.
