PPL Presents Princeton Community Pride Picnic
Celebrate Princeton’s LGBTQIA+ community on Friday, June 3 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Princeton Shopping Center. The special event will include music, games, activities, giveaways, and more. Rain date is June 5.
Families of all ages are welcome to participate. There will be a bubble show by OMG Bubbles, hula hooping with Color Me Hoopy, yoga, a community mural, and live tunes from DJ Mona of Mon Amie Events NYC.
Bring a picnic dinner or pick up a bite at one of the many dining options available on the site that includes pizza, tacos, salads, sandwiches, fresh chicken, paella, and more. Rita’s Italian ice will give out free water ice for the kids.
Artist Marlon “7ovechild” Davila will lead the community in creating a large mural and participants will have a chance to meet author/illustrator Rashad Malik Davis.
Senator Andrew Zwicker, Mayor Mark Freda, and other local dignitaries will be in attendance. Local nonprofits and community groups will have tables with activities and information for attendees.
The event is coordinated by Princeton Public Library (PPL) in collaboration with McCarter Theatre Centre, HiTOPS, Princeton Civil Rights Commission, Princeton Human Services, YWCA Princeton, and Princeton YMCA.
When the picnic ends at 7:30 p.m., there will be a Pride Dance at the Arts Council of Princeton through 10 p.m.
