Inaugural Princeton Community Chili Cook-off

Get out your pots and start collecting your seasonings for the Princeton Community Chili Cook-off on Sunday, September 22 from 12 to 3 p.m. at Updike Farmstead, 354 Quaker Road, sponsored by the Historical Society of Princeton and the Arts Council of Princeton.

The savory comfort food will be the hot topic among home cooks and professional chefs, both of whom will compete in the old-fashioned Chili Cook-Off where attendees will enjoy samples before casting their votes. Funds raised will support Arts Council and Historical Society community programs. Free activities for families, lawn games, cider, live music, and adoptable dogs from SAVE animal shelter will complete the day on the farm. Beers from River Horse Brewing Co. and fresh flowers from Sprouts will be available for purchase.

Participating eateries so far are Jammin’ Crepes, Mediterra Restaurant and Taverna, Princeton Soup and Sandwich Company, and Winberie’s Restaurant and Bar.

Registration for amateur cooks is $25; restaurant registration is $50. Admission tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children 11-15, and free for children 10 and under.
