Diesel & Duke Opens in Princeton
By Taylor Smith
Ready to throw caution to the wind?
Diesel & Duke at 124 Nassau Street has taken over the previous 30 Burgers space with updated decor and a unique menu that is ideally suited to Princeton University students (and those with fearless palates).
Their “smash” burgers use clean and simple ingredients to create a juicy, satisfying mess. Sandwiched between soft bread buns, the specialty burgers include The Standard (American cheese, lettuce, tomato, aioli, ketchup), Holypeno (bacon, aged cheddar, jalapeño, caramelized onion, spicy mayo), Smokeshow (bacon, aged cheddar, onion ring, BBQ sauce), S.P.B.B. (peanut butter, sriracha, bacon), Breakfast (bacon, fried egg, aged cheddar, aioli, ketchup), and The Impossible (plant-based patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, aioli, ketchup).
Not be outdone, the Sweets & Sides offerings range from Poutine (fries, cheese curds, gravy, scallions), Cajun Fries, Cheese Fries, and Ranger Fries (fries, BBQ sauce, cheese sauce, bacon bits) to standard hand-cut fries and even fried Oreos (with the option to add Nutella).
Bread can always be substituted with a lettuce wrap, and customers can order a double patty for $3.
We are predicting that Diesel & Duke will really shine, especially during Reunions Weekend when thousands of Princeton alumni and their families return to campus in search of great eats and a good time.
