Pick Your Own Apple Season Begins At Terhune Orchards
Beginning on September 5, Terhune’s Van Kirk Road Orchard will be open for picking (weather permitting) every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The orchards will remain open through the month of October. Apple varieties include Early Fuji, Empire, Fuji, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Jonomac, Jonathan, Liberty, McIntosh, Macoun, Red Delicious, and Stayman Winesap. The 2015 Apple Day celebrations at Terhune Orchards will take place on September 12 and 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5, ages 3 and up (parking and access to the Farm Store and Winery is free).
Apple Day is a local tradition in which the Mount family welcomes visitors to the farm to celebrate the abundant apple harvest. Apple Day traditions include apple picking, wagon rides, tractor rides, homebaked apple goods, fresh pressed apple cider, and live performances by The Daisy Jug Band.
Fall Family Weekends at Terhune begin September 19 and continue through November 1. During this 7 week season, the farm will hold weekly pumpkin picking, crafts for children, live music, and delicious treats at the Farm Store.
