Annual Night Out With NAMI, Nov. 18
This year’s Night Out With NAMI will take place at Trenton Country Club for “A Night at the Races” on Saturday, November 18. The Kentucky Derby-themed event will feature Southern fare, mint juleps, live bluegrass music, and a silent auction.
Central to the evening’s celebration will be the recognition of mental health champions Tom Pyle and David Lee White.
Pyle, who found his way to NAMI Mercer after his son was diagnosed with schizophrenia, will receive the NAMI Mercer Pillar Award for his commitment to advancing NAMI Mercer’s mission as both a volunteer and a board member. Pyle is representative of the impact volunteers can have at NAMI Mercer when it comes to outreach, education, and providing mental health services to those who need it.
NAMI Mercer’s Visionary Award will go to White for using his artistic skills to draw more attention and understanding to the field of mental health. Through playwriting specifically, White aims to offer a glimmer of hope of what life can be like even if you live with mental illness.
The dress code for the event is bow ties and fancy hats (as inspired by the Kentucky Derby). To purchase tickets, visit namimercer.org/get-involved/attend-night-out-with-nami/.
Trenton Country Club is located at 201 Sullivan Way in West Trenton.
