ACLU-NJ, Planned Parenthood NJ, and Labyrinth Deliver Presentation on Abortion Access in NJ: Rights and Realities

Labyrinth Books will host an informative presentation on “Abortion Access in NJ: Rights and Realities” on Tuesday, May 23 at 6 p.m.

Amol Sinha, executive director of the ACLU New Jersey, and Jackie Cornell, executive director of Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey, will discuss how New Jersey fits into the new reality of reproductive health care being tied to and determined by a person’s zip code.

Since the fall of Roe v. Wade, this event will explore the overall state of abortion access in New Jersey, including for undocumented women and other especially vulnerable populations. There will also be a discussion of the importance of civic engagement in this year’s statewide election and beyond. This event will be moderated by Heather Howard, former N.J. commissioner of health and senior services and current professor at Princeton University.

Before joining the ACLU-NJ in 2017, Sinha was a state policy advocate at the Innocence Project, where he worked to address wrongful convictions and reform the criminal legal system across the country.

Cornell is the chief government relations officer with Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central, and Southern New Jersey. She previously served as the principal deputy commissioner of health for the State of New Jersey during Gov. Murphy’s first term in office.

Howard is Professor of the Practice at Princeton University School of Public and International Affairs as well as co-director of Princeton University’s Global Health Program and director of State Health and Value Strategies.
