The 2020 Head of the Schuylkill Regatta Goes Virtual

Join the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta (HOSR) virtually on October 18-24, 2020. Compete on your favorite indoor rowing machine or body of water by self-submitting times and distances traveled during October 18-23. Live racing will be held on October 24. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the famed Philadelphia race that typically draw rowers from around the world. Registration is now open on Regatta Central (https://www.regattacentral.com/regatta/?job_id=6266).

Participatory Erg (Asynchronous)

Race 4100-4300 meters (to be disclosed at start of race week) from your favorite place, any time during event week, October 18-23. Competitors may row their piece on any rowing machine that counts distance and submit their time. Individual and team events will be offered.

Participatory Water (Asynchronous)

Race 4100-4300 meters (to be disclosed at start of race week) from your favorite body of water, any time during event week, October 18-23. Competitors may use an NK SpeedCoach GPS or any device that exports .fit file to record their meters and submit during the event week.

Live Erg (Synchronous)

Go head-to-head with rowers for 4150! The HOSR is partnering with HereNow to bring you LIVE racing. The event will be held on Saturday, October 24. Experience a virtual race through a 3D rendering of the Schuylkill River. Competitors will start in a head race fashion chasing boats ahead of them down the course. Competitors will connect their phone with a Concept2 Erg (with PM5 monitor) or an RP3 to race live against rowers from around the world.

The registration deadline for the live event is October 14 at 11: 59 p.m.

Registration and results submission deadline for participatory rowing machine and water events is October 23 at 12 p.m.
