Hoffman’s Ice Cream & Yogurt — with branches in Spring Lake Heights, Point Pleasant Beach, Little Silver, and Long Branch — seems to scream summer at the Shore. 

Beginning in 1955, Hoffman’s Ice Cream operated as one of the first Carvel Ice Cream stores in New Jersey. When the franchise expired in 1976, the owners changed the name to Hoffman’s and grew a reputation of their own. The store’s original location was, and still is, in Point Pleasant Beach.

 All of the brand’s delicious flavors are still made in Point Pleasant Beach and distributed among their four branches. Hoffman’s offers classic flavors like chocolate chip, vanilla, mint chocolate chip, and coffee, along with the more decadent Coffee Oreo, Strawberry Bon-Bon (strawberry ice cream with hard chocolate swirl), Jersey Monkey (banana ice cream with peanut butter swirl and chocolate chips), Pralines and Cream (vanilla ice cream with candy coated pecans), Peanut Butter Nugget (peanut butter ice cream with peanut butter swirl and chocolate covered peanuts), S’mores (graham cracker ice cream with mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, and graham crunch), and Fudge Mint Cookie (mint Oreo ice cream with Oreos and fudge swirl). Perennial favorites are the Toasted Coconut (coconut ice cream with toasted coconut flakes), Cherry Vanilla (vanilla ice cream with black cherries), Espresso Mocha Chunk (mocha ice cream with chocolate covered espresso pillows), and the brightly blue-hued Cookie Monster (vanilla ice cream with cookie dough pieces and Oreos). 

The staff pride themselves on generous portion sizes, so don’t expect tiny scoops in your waffle cone! Milkshake varieties are also available, as well as a plethora of sundae-style toppings. 

Just in time for Father’s Day, Hoffman’s has freshly made-to-order ice cream cakes. All of Hoffman’s cakes include two layers of ice cream with chocolate crunch nestled in the middle. Orders from the Point Pleasant and Spring Lake Heights locations are available for pick-up between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Orders from Long Branch and Little Silver are available between 1 and 8 p.m. Customers should indicate their desired pick-up time, date, and location when placing an order.
