12th Annual Cupid’s Chase 5K on Feb. 8

By Taylor Smith

Community Options, Inc. invites runners, walkers, and rollers (baby strollers and wheelchairs) to help raise funds to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities at the annual Cupid’s Chase.

The Cupid’s Chase 5K on Saturday, February 8 at the Princeton Shopping Center will raise funds to support people with disabilities in Mercer County. To register, visit cupidschase.org.

The race in Princeton will be one of 31 Cupid’s Chase races taking place on February 8 across nine states. Last year, Community Options raised over $100,000 with 6,000 runners in attendance across the country. Other New Jersey Cupid’s Chase races will be held on February 8 in Bridgewater, Glen Rock, Moorestown, Morristown, Seaside Heights, and West Orange. Philadelphia and New York City will also play host to the Community Options event. All runners will receive a shirt that says “Available” or “Unavailable” in the spirit of Valentine’s Day.

For 30 years, Community Options has developed housing and employment programs for people with disabilities. As a national agency, it believes in the dignity of every person, providing integral residential services, day programs, social enterprises, and high school transition programs. With the goal of inclusion, rather than exclusion, the agency has developed a reputation for quality, cost effective administration that encourages individual choice and flexibility.

According to the New Jersey Business Journal’s Book of Lists for 2018, Community Options is ranked as the third largest nonprofit in New Jersey. Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer Robert Stacks is an adjunct professor at Kean University and was a keynote speaker at the Yale Goldman-Sachs School of Management.
